What funny tweet did Vikings’ Patrick Peterson post during TCU’s loss to Georgia in the CFP Championship Game?
Though we imagine the Horned Frogs didn’t see the humor in Peterson’s tweet, we’ve got to admit it was still quite funny.
Whether he was being sincere or a little cheeky, we can definitely say the way in which the Vikings’ player tried to ‘motivate’ the Horned Frogs during their CFP National Championship loss, was very funny.
Vikings’ Patrick Peterson has jokes for TCU
On Monday night, the TCU Horned Frogs didn’t just lose to Stetson Bennett and the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, they were utterly embarrassed by them. As early as halftime at SoFi Stadium, it was very clear that the Bulldogs were going to raise the trophy for the second consecutive year, as they had already established a 31-point lead. Indeed, there was little doubt at that point as to how the game was going to go, except for Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson, who saw things in a hilariously different way.
While we’re sure the Vikings defensive back knew then and knows now, just how brutal Georgia’s defense is, his reference to one of TCU’s earlier games in which they overturned a similar deficit was perfect in its comedic delivery. Ultimately, it was not to be and the 65-7 score definitely punctuates that point. TCU’s Max Duggan was intercepted on two occasions and passed for a meagre 97 yards with no touchdowns. Meanwhile the Bulldogs scored at will, with Bennett passing for two touchdowns and rushing for another two.
What’s Patrick Peterson’s allegiance?
As a for LSU Tiger, Peterson doesn’t exactly have a horse in the race when it comes to Georgia and TCU. Indeed, we can’t imagine he would have been cheering for the Bulldogs as they are in fact an SEC rival and where the Horned Frogs are concerned, we can’t think of any ties. That being said, who wouldn’t have wanted to see a dramatic comeback as opposed to a full-fledged blow out. At any rate, with the Bulldogs now crowned champions, Peterson can turn his attention back to the New York Giants who he and the Vikings will meet in NFL Wild-Card Round at home on Sunday.
