What games will the Packers’ Sammy Watkins miss now that he’s injured?

After a slew of injuries - some of them season ending - around the league from Week 2, the Packers are the latest to lose a player. Thankfully, he’ll return in a month.
Packers’ Sammy Watkins to miss minimum of four games
According to reports on Saturday, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been listed on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury. As a result, the 29-year-old will miss at least four games before he can return to the field. How does that look going forward? Watkins will be absent for the highly anticipated clash with Tom Brady’s Buccaneers, as well as games against the New England Patriots, New York Giants and New York Jets. Ultimately, it’ll likely be against the Washington Commanders on October 23rd, when we see Watkins again.
What do the Packers do in Watkins’ absence?
While it surely does nothing to soften the blow of Watkins’ injury, one has to admit that the Packers would have known what they were doing when they took a chance on a player known to struggle with injuries. If you didn’t know, Watkins hasn’t played a full season since he came into the league back in 2014. None the less, the Packers now have a hole to fill which likely means they will turn to Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and also the pair of rookies, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. Interestingly, Watson posted three catches for 93 yards against the Bears in Week 2.
Are the Packers in trouble?
If we consider for a moment Aaron Rodgers’ “growing pains” comment following the Packers’ 23-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, it has to be said that this is a team which lost wideout Davante Adams during the summer to the Las Vegas Raiders. It goes without saying a player like that is hard to replace. Can the young receivers on the roster step up in the manner that Rodgers is asking? With Watkins out, one thing is clear and that’s the fact that Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, are not going to leave room for anything else.
