What happened to Broncos RB Tyler Badie? Mom speaks after his collapse vs Jets
There’s been a positive update on running back Tyler Badie after he had a terrifying collapse on the field during the Broncos’ win over the Jets on Sunday.
During Sunday’s Denver Broncos game against the New York Jets, a horrific moment occurred when Broncos running back Tyler Badie collapsed on the sidelines. He had just taken a hard hit from Jets linebacker Quincy Williams and fumbled the ball, but as soon as he got to the sidelines, he collapsed and had to be placed on a backboard, put in a neck brace, and carted off the field.
Strangely, head coach Sean Payton refused to give an update after the game.
Badie’s mother speaks out
What happened to Badie is every mother’s worst nightmare. Fortunately, there has been a positive update. NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport reported on Monday that Badie suffered a back injury, but is now moving his arms and legs.
Badie’s mother, Dr. Tanjala T. Gipson posted a photo of herself at the game with a t-shirt that read, “Let’s Go Ba-Day!” with this caption: “This photo was taken just before today’s game. God was good then, and God is good now. We may not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future. Thank you so very much for your prayers for our son Tyler Badie.”
The extent of Badie’s injury is still unclear, but the positive news from today is encouraging. Badie was a sixth-round draft pick in 2022 and was only recently added to the active roster after previous injuries. In Week 3, Badie rushed for 70 yards on nine carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
