What injury did the 49ers Deebo Samuel suffer against the Packers?
The 49ers wide receiver started the playoff game against Green Bay but went off injured after the second drive.
The 49ers star wide receiver Deebo Samuel started the Divisional Round game against the Packers on Saturday night but suffered a left shoulder injury and was ruled out of the rest of the game. The 49ers won the game late on thanks to a McCaffery touchdown. They now play the Bucs or the Lions in next weeks Championship game, and at present, pending further medical evaluation, it is not clear whether Deebo Samuel will be fit for that.
Samuel picked up the injury on the 49ers second drive. Having caught the ball he was looking to keep going, but succumbed under multiple Packers defenders. He remained down after the play and then went to the locker room to be checked over, being designated questionable at that point.
However, the 49ers fans worst fears were confirmed when Samuel came out for the second half in street clothes. His team then confirmed he was ruled out.
Samuel key for the 49ers this season
Losing Samuel is a major blow for the 49ers. He made 60 catches in 15 games in the regular season for 892 yards and seven touchdowns.
The 49ers can still rely on their powerful playmaking unit including Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle.
