Following a 2020 NFL season in which he broke a host of franchise records, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was rewarded with a big-money contract extension in August 2021.

A closer look at Josh Allen’s net worth

As the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, you can probably imagine that Josh Allen earns a decent salary - even more so after he signed a six-year, $258 million extension with $150 million guaranteed in 2021. In March 2023, Allen’s deal was restructured by the Bills just as his extension mentioned above was due to kick in - he earned just over $85 million across his first five seasons.

That move resulted in no loss on Allen’s part but rather a bolstering of his already appealing image, as evidenced by him being the new cover athlete for Madden 24. This is all to say that it’s highly likely that the 28-year-old’s net worth will continue to increase.

As for what that net worth is, as per multiple reports during 2024, including one from Celebrity Net Worth, Allen’s current net worth stands at approximately $70 million. However, it should be said that more than half of that figure comes from his NFL salary instead of sponsorship. While Allen is growing in marketability, these are still early days for the Bills’ signal caller compared to other endorsement juggernauts like Aaron Rodgers or the now-retired Tom Brady.

Allen’s annual salary comes in at roughly $32.35m as part of that hefty $258m contract, which ties him to the Bills until the end of the 2028 season. So far, Allen has racked up a total of $173,076,199 in wages from the Bills and he is set to double that sum over the next few years.

Pistachios and endorsements with Nike, Microsoft...

Allen also earns money from a wide range of endorsements with brands including Beats by Dre, Cash App, Nike, New Era, Gatorade (Pepsi), Gillette, Frito Lay and Verizon are among his endorsements. Exactly how much he pockets from these deals is unclear.

However, Forbes magazine has estimated that fellow star quarterbacks such as Rodgers, Dak Prescott, and Patrick Mahomes earn around $10 million to $20 million a year from sponsorship agreements. (Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady takes home $45m from endorsements, according to Forbes, but Allen is unlikely to be anywhere near the seven-time Super Bowl winner).

He has also invested in other businesses such as Hydrant, TMRW Sports and OnCore Golf. Among his future plans is an ambitious scheme to plant pistachio trees on 1,000 acres of his family farm in between the Coast Ranges and Sierra Nevada in Firebaugh, California, which could bring in an an extra income of around $6.5 million annually,
