COWBOYS
What is Dak Prescott's injury and how long will he be out for the Cowboys?
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered an injury during their loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and will miss significant time.
The Dallas Cowboys pretty much had their season hopes dashed with their fifth loss and third straight loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. On top of the already depleted defense they were dealing with, they lost quarterback Dak Prescott to an injury and it looks like it won’t be a quick recovery.
Prescott to miss multiple weeks
Late in the fourth quarter of the game against the Falcons, Prescott was taken out with an apparent injury. At first, cameras showed his swollen hand which looked to be bleeding. It was later revealed that what took him out of the game was actually a hamstring injury. He did not return to the game after that.
It‘s not looking good for the future this season either. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Prescott is expected to miss multiple weeks with the hamstring injury and is seeking a second opinion on treatment.
A decision has not yet been made about whether or not Prescott will be placed on Injured Reserved, but the injury is “worse than expected”, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
This news only adds to the Cowboys' already bleak season.
Will Cooper Rush or Trey Lance start for the Cowboys?
With Prescott out, the Cowboys are likely to look to backup quarterback Cooper Rush, who filled in for Prescott in the fourth quarter of the game.
He finished the game with 13 of 25 completions for 115 yards and one touchdown to wide receiver Jalen Tolbert, plus a 2-point conversion pass to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who also suffered an injury in the fourth quarter, but insisted on being put back in the game.
