What kind of field is the Eagles-Packers game in São Paulo?

The Eagles and Packers are trying to play football but it appears the turf at the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo is giving them some slippery issues.

The Eagles and Packers are playing the first NFL game in South America at the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil, or at least trying to. The players seem to be having some difficulty with the turf at the stadium as they keep slipping which has forced them to change up the cleats they are using.

What kind of field is the Eagles-Packers game in São Paulo?

The Philadelphia Eagles, at Lincoln Financial Field, and Green Bay Packers, at Lambeau Field, are the only two teams that play on a hybrid turf, which is where synthetic grass fibers are blended into natural grass turf.

The Arena Corinthians, also known as the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, which was built in the run up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, also uses a hybrid turf. So maybe it’s something else, perhaps the how it’s cut.

The grass, made up of three types, at Arena Corinthians is mowed to between 0.87 in and 0.98 in. However, for the NFL season, maintenance crew at Lincoln Financial Field mow the turf daily to between 0.625 in and 0.75 in. In the case of Lambeau Field, the turf is mowed every other day to 1.125 inches.
