The NFL community is unfortunately accustomed to mourning the loss of former players, and now we mourn the passing of Ryan Mallett, a former member of the New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens.

Deltaplex News has confirmed that Mallett, who served as Tom Brady’s backup during the 2011-2013 NFL seasons, passed away at 35 due to drowning in the Destin, Florida, area. Mallett hailed from Batesville, Arkansas, and was the head coach at White Hall High School in his home state.

During his professional career, Mallett played for seven years but only participated in five NFL seasons. He was drafted in the third round of the 2011 Draft and played one season for New England, two for Houston, and three for Baltimore. Throughout his career, Mallett played in 21 regular season games, throwing for 1,835 yards, 9 touchdown passes, and 10 interceptions.

The New England Patriots have released a statement expressing their deep sadness over the passing of Mallett. They extend their sincere condolences to his family, former teammates, and all those affected by this tragic loss.

Mallett’s NFL wins

During his NFL career, Mallett was a starting quarterback for 8 games, securing 3 victories. He led the Texans to triumph against the Cleveland Browns in 2014 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015. As QB1 for the Baltimore Ravens, he also helped them secure a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015.

Mallett’s personal best was when he recorded 292 passing yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in the final game of the 2015 season. Additionally, he scored the most touchdown passes during a victory over the Browns in 2014.
