Though it’s normally what the Packers QB does with his right arm, that catches headlines, this time around it was what he did with his left that grabbed attention.

Aaron Rodgers explains his mysterious new tattoo.

It’s been almost a month, since Aaron Rodgers unveiled his new ‘ink’ with a curious tattoo on his left forearm. Indeed, the reigning MVP took to social media where he posted a photo of the mysterious design, along with a message explaining that he would share details of its origin “one day.” Queue the online debates and rumor mills and here we are. Thankfully, we can all rest a little easier now that the star of Green Bay has kept his word and decided to open up.

During a recent interview, Rodgers was asked directly about the meaning behind his new tattoo and the Packers star didn’t hesitate to answer. “If you’re not a student of astrology, there’s going to be some weird things to look at in there,” Rodgers said. “There’s three signs at the top: Aquarius to the right, Sagittarius in the middle and Scorpio on the far left. I always said ‘If I get a tattoo, I want to get some representation of my Godson,’” Rodgers said. “Now, I have two Godsons - I’m very thankful for that - and one of them is an Aquarius and one of them is a Sagittarius, so I wanted to put a representation of them on my arm.” At that point, Rodgers acknowledged that he only touched on two of the three signs, as he explained, “Scorpio is the sign I most resonate with on my own natal chart,” he said. “The rest has some stuff to do with elements and some other things.”

Balazs Bercsenyi tattooed Aaron Rodgers but who is he?

Rodgers also revealed who the man behind the mark was. Indeed, that honor fell to famed Hungarian tattoo artist Balazs Bercsenyi. The star QB disclosed that there was an element of destiny in how he met Bercsenyi and subsequently received a tattoo from him. “I love the artist. I’d know him for a while and it was just divine timing,” Rodgers said. “I was in Europe in between a couple of trips. He lives in Hungary and everything kind of came together to have that thing put on my arm. I took it very seriously because that thing is on there forever. ...He’s a true master and I’m really appreciative to work with Balazs and get that on my arm.” With that, both the Packers and Rodgers will be hoping that his other arm generates as much conversation this coming season and moreover, for the right reasons.
