Expectation levels are sky-high in the city of Baltimore with Ravens fans dreaming of another Super Bowl final and ultimate glory to add to their 2000 and 2012 triumphs.

The top seeded Ravens had Lamar Jackson to thank for securing their passage to the Conference final after his touchdowns helped the team from Maryland to beat the visiting Houston Texans for a 34-10 victory in an AFC divisional playoff game last weekend.

“We studied those guys like no tomorrow,” Jackson told ESPN following the game. “We had the bye week, but we still stayed locked in and focused. ... Started off slow first half, but second half, we dialed up and we started connecting.”

We still got more work to do,” Jackson concluded.

Chiefs looking to repeat 2022

Kansas City Chiefs will be the Ravens opponents in Sunday’s final after they overcame the Buffalo Bills in arctic conditions in New York State last Sunday.

Once again, it was star player Patrick Mahomes who was instrumental as the quarter-back threw two touchdown passes to Travis Kelce and the Chiefs advanced to the AFC Championship Game for the sixth consecutive season with a 27-24 victory over the Bills on Sunday night at Orchard Park.

Isiah Pacheco rushed for 97 yards and the go-ahead touchdown on 15 carries for third-seeded Kansas City. Mahomes completed 17 of 23 passes for 215 yards in his first career road postseason game and Kelce had five receptions for 75 yards for the Chiefs.

“We did hear it all week about playing a road game,” Mahomes said, “and we were here to prove a point and show we can play anywhere.”

Kansas City now visit the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens next Sunday for a Super Bowl berth with conditions set to be a little more clemnent than the sub-zero temperatures experienced last weekend in Buffalo.

What weather can we expect in Baltimore next Sunday?

The good news for match going fans is that the temperature will be cold but not near freezing as was the case in Buffalo but spectators should expect rain around match time in and around the M&T Bank Stadium for the final with overcast skies overhead.

The current forecast suggests the temperature will be a crisp 49 degrees fahrenheit with a 60% chance of precipitation on game day.
