When and who is playing in the NFL opening season game?
The 2024 NFL season is around the corner, it seems, as the league just announced their opening game, which will see the Chiefs vs the Ravens batting it out.
The NFL announced Monday that the Kansas City Chiefs will play the Baltimore Ravens in the league’s yearly prime-time season opener to begin their quest for a third consecutive championship.
The upcoming game, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5 at Arrowhead Stadium, will be a repeat of last year’s AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs won that game with a score of 17-10, which ultimately lead them to Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers.
Chiefs’ and Ravens last opening games in the NFL?
The Chiefs will be taking the field at Arrowhead Stadium for the third time in five seasons. In 2020, they emerged victorious against the Houston Texans, but in 2023, they faced a defeat at the hands of the Detroit Lions.
In their previous Kickoff Game appearance, the Ravens suffered a defeat at the hands of the Denver Broncos during the start of the 2013 season. The complete NFL regular-season schedule is anticipated to be announced on Wednesday.
