The year was 2000, and the NFL Draft was underway. With the 199th overall pick in the 6th round, the New England Patriots made a decision that would forever alter the landscape of the NFL. They selected Tom Brady, a quarterback from the University of Michigan who had shown promise but hadn’t quite captured the attention of many scouts.

Brady spent his first season as a backup, learning the ropes and hoping for an opportunity. That moment came in his second season when starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe was sidelined due to an injury. Brady stepped in and quickly proved his mettle, leading the Patriots to an impressive series of victories.

A Super Bowl for the ages and star is born!

On February 3, 2002, Brady’s and the Patriots’ efforts culminated in an appearance at Super Bowl XXXVI against the St. Louis Rams. In a game that was tense until the final seconds.

He orchestrated a game-winning drive that set up the field goal to clinch the victory, earning the Patriots their first Super Bowl title and Brady his first Super Bowl MVP award.

This victory was just the beginning for Brady, who would go on to win multiple Super Bowls, setting records and becoming one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. His first Super Bowl win, however, remains a pivotal moment that announced his arrival on the biggest stage and set the tone for a storied career.
