When was the last time the Ravens reached the AFC Championship Game?
The AFC Championship Game is red hot at the moment. The Ravens have reached the conference decider for the first time since 2012 and could go all the way.
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Houston Texans 31-17 in the AFC Divisional Round on Sunday, putting them one victory away from their third Super Bowl appearance in team history. Next Sunday, the Ravens will play their first-ever conference championship game at home when they face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
The Ravens have made four trips to the AFC Championship Game but never as the favorite or the host team. They suffered defeats in 2008 and 2010 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and in 2011 and 2012 against the New England Patriots. They have only won the AFC title once, which came in 2012 when they defeated the Patriots 28–13 at Gillette Stadium and went on to defeat the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII.
Why the Ravens have the edge at home against the Chiefs
The Ravens have won all eight of their regular season games at M&T Bank Stadium, extending their home winning streak to 12 games, the longest current sequence in the NFL, because of their dominance at home this season. They also have the greatest home point differential in the league, outscoring their opponents 267-119 at home.
