Jalen Hurts is an NFL star, the backbone of the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense.

This Super Bowl finalist was a former four-star recruit from Channelview, Texas, who resisted Texas A&M to sign with Alabama. As a true freshman, Hurts became the first quarterback to start for the Crimson Tide since 1984. He was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and helped Alabama achieve a 14-1 record, but they lost to Clemson in the 2017 College Football Playoff Championship.

Like Hurts, his father was a star athlete at Howard Payne University, where he played football and track on a scholarship. He excelled at both sports, having been a six-time All-American in track and field and an All-Conference senior offensive lineman.

Hurts’ mother pursued a career in education, where she worked for many years. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in counseling. Like Hurts’s father, Pamela also worked for the Channelview District in Texas.

It is unknown whether she still currently teaches there.

Jalen Hurts’ two siblings

Hurts is also a brother to two siblings: Kynnedy, his younger sister, and his older brother, Averion, named after his father.

Jalen’s brother was the starting quarterback at Texas Southern University, where he was a collegiate athlete. He is now a college football coach at the University of Alabama, where Hurts first played football after high school in 2016.

Jalen’s sister, who is also believed to be athletic, has a much more private life than her siblings- even though Hurts is considered more private than many other NFL players.

Does Jalen Hurts have a girlfriend?

Hurts went public with his girlfriend, Bryonna Burrows, following the Eagles’ NFC Championship title on January 2023. The couple was pictured holding hands after the Eagles defeated the 49ers, which was the first time Hurts publicly revealed his relationship with Burrows to the world.

The two met at the University of Alabama, where, according to reports, Burrows graduated in 2017, attaining a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and political science. She is now a senior client experience consultant for IBM in Dallas.

Jalen Hurts journey

Hurts started his football career at a young age when he was a Channelview High School football team member- where his dad coached. He played his first three college football seasons at Alabama and even won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship.

In the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Hurts was selected by the Eagles and became their starter around the end of his rookie season. He signed a 4-year contract with the franchise worth $6,025,171, which includes a $1,941,944 signing bonus, guaranteed at $2,825,815.

Following a playoff defeat in 2021, Hurts now leads Philadelphia to an appearance in Super Bowl LVII one year later.

Speaking on faith, Hurts once told the media that he keeps “God at the center of everything. I give Him all the praise, I lean on Him all the time. And I know that everything unfolds the way it’s supposed to.’
