Who is Izzy Nix, Broncos QB Bo Nix's wife?

A fairy-tale romance brought Bo Nix the love of his life and even though he made his name in Oregon, their story began in Alabama.

Bo Nix wasn’t thinking about much beyond football when he first saw Izzy at Auburn. After all, this was the son of a former Auburn quarterback, and the pressure on his young shoulders was immense. But life has a funny way of throwing surprises your way when you least expect them. That’s what happened to Bo when he met Izzy, an Auburn cheerleader who would become much more than just someone on the sidelines.

Izzy, a Birmingham native, didn’t just fall into the role of “football wife” by chance. She was an athlete herself, spending 14 years as a gymnast before trading in her leotard for pom-poms at Auburn. The rigors of gymnastics taught her about sacrifice and dedication—qualities that undoubtedly helped when she found herself in a relationship with a guy whose life was often dictated by the whims of a college football schedule.

When Bo and Izzy met in June 2020, it didn’t take long for sparks to fly. Their love story grew alongside Bo’s college career, one marked by the highs and lows that only college football can bring. By July 2021, Bo was down on one knee at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the place where he’d experienced so many of his greatest moments. “I knew from the first moment I laid eyes on you that you were special,” Bo wrote after the proposal, and Izzy was just as thrilled, calling it her “greatest honor and joy” to become his wife.

After their wedding in Alabama in July 2022, Bo and Izzy traded the Southern sun for the cooler climes of Oregon. Bo had transferred to the University of Oregon, and Izzy, now Mrs. Nix, made the move with him. It wasn’t an easy transition; moving across the country never is, especially when you’re leaving behind all that’s familiar. But Izzy was up for the challenge, supporting Bo as he settled into his new role with the Ducks.

The move to Eugene wasn’t just about football, though. For Bo, it was a chance to grow, to live on his own for the first time, away from the comforts of home and the support system he’d always known. Izzy joined him after finishing her degree at Auburn, and together they embraced their new community. She may have traded her Auburn orange and blue for Oregon green and yellow, but her support for Bo remained unwavering. “It was definitely a tough transition coming out here,” Izzy admitted, “but I knew when we got engaged that we could live anywhere.”

Through it all, Bo and Izzy have found ways to celebrate the little things. Whether it’s a birthday post on Instagram or a beach getaway to Maui, the two have made it a point to keep their relationship front and center, even as football dominates much of their time. They celebrated their first anniversary with a nod to their wedding day, complete with a bouncy house—a fitting metaphor for a couple that knows how to keep things light and joyful.

Bo and Izzy’s story isn’t just about football or the typical college romance. It’s about two people who met by chance and chose to build a life together, one game, one move, one day at a time. And if you ask them, they’ll tell you they wouldn’t have it any other way.
