The Tennessee Titans announced that they have reached an agreement for safety Jamal Adams to play with them during the 2024 NFL season. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

Adams comes from spending the last four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, who acquired him in 2020 in a trade with the New York Jets, who received two first-round picks (2021 and 2022), one third (2021), and safety Bradley McDougald. The NFC West team saved $16.5 million in 2024 and $17.5 million in 2025 by cutting him in March this year.

Who will be Jamal’s starting safety position opponents on the Titans roster?

The best thing for the safety is that in Tennessee, he will be reunited with Dennard Wilson, the Titans’ defensive coordinator, who was the Jets’ defensive backs coach during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, in which he was called up for the Pro Bowl selection.

In Tennessee, Adams will compete for one of the starting safety spots that currently belong to Amani Hooker and Elijah Molden. Hooker is coming off his fifth professional season, the best of his career, with 85 tackles. For his part, Molden will enter the final year of his rookie contract after accumulating 73 tackles.

Jamal Adams’ NFL statistics

Adams came to the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2017 draft out of LSU, and his impact was immediate. As a rookie, he had 83 tackles and six passes defensed. For his second season, he was part of the NFL’s second All-Pro team, and in his third year, he was elected to the All-Pro first team.

Safety time in Seattle was disappointing. Adams only played 34 regular season games in four years with the Seahawks. Added to his four postseason absences, he was out in 37 of the 71 games the Seahawks played with him on the roster.

After seven seasons as a professional, he has 494 tackles, 36 passes defended, 21.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, four interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.
