In the first Super Bowl of his career, Patriots wide receiver Diggs will be roared on by Grammy-winning girlfriend Cardi B.
Rapper Cardi B has spoken of her pride in boyfriend Stefon Diggs, as the New England Patriots wide receiver prepares for the first Super Bowl appearance of his 11-year NFL career.
Cardi, whose full name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, was in attendance in Denver this weekend, as Diggs and the Patriots overcame heavy snow to beat the Broncos 10-7 in the AFC Championship Game.
The Patriots will now take on the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, as Diggs chases the perfect ending to his first season with New England, having signed a three-year deal with the team last March.
“It’s not missing one day of work”
In a video posted on the NFL’s Instagram account, Cardi could be seen joining in wild postgame celebrations on Sunday, shouting: “That’s what I’m talking about! We’re going to the Super Bowl!”
Speaking to reporters, she then praised Diggs’ ability to bounce back from a major knee injury - an ACL tear suffered with the Houston Texans in 2024 - to book a ticket to the NFL’s title game.
“I’m feeling very excited, very happy for him, very proud of him,” Cardi said. “You know, he just came back from an ACL and we’ve seen the progress and the process of him going through the effort. The first time he started back running, and now, joining the Patriots and then actually going to the Super Bowl…
“I’m just very excited for him and very excited for the whole team. They’ve been working their butts off.”
Cardi emphasized the “discipline” Diggs showed during his ACL rehabilitation. “It’s not like you wake up and you’re great,” she said. “It’s discipline, it’s going to bed early, it’s waking up early, it’s not missing one day of work, nothing.”
How long have Diggs and Cardi B been together?
The 33-year-old was first rumored to be dating Diggs in late 2024, but the pair did not go Instagram official until last June. Five months later, Cardi confirmed that she had given birth to her first child with Diggs.
“A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me,” she wrote on Instagram in November. “One more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve.”
Cardi and Diggs’ son, whose name has not been publicly confirmed - and has been the subject of wild internet rumors - is the musician’s fourth child. She has three kids from a previous relationship with fellow rapper Offset.
Diggs, meanwhile, now has a reported six children by six different women. Speaking to People before November’s birth, the 31-year-old quipped: “It’s a boy. That’s enough for me. I can’t wait to make him do push-ups and sit-ups and run around.”
Cardi B set for tour after long-awaited album release
A Grammy-winning rapper, Cardi brought out her second studio album - Am I the Drama? - in September, eight years after debuting with Invasion of Privacy. Three days after her boyfriend takes on the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX, she is due to begin a three-month concert tour, “Little Miss Drama”, in support of her new album.
Between Feb. 11 and Apr. 18, the New York native is to perform 35 shows at locations across the U.S. and Canada, beginning with a concert at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
