The New Orleans Saints defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 26-24 in the first Sunday undercard of the NFL preseason, delighting fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

During the second game, There were significant personnel changes, with Derek Carr departing the field and Jimmy Garoppolo taking his place. Garoppolo, who had recently transferred from the 49ers, was present in the area, although he did not participate in the match.

In the second week of the previous football season, the eagerly awaited starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, Trey Lance, sustained an injury. Consequently, Jimmy Garoppolo took over the reins and led the team until the thirteenth week, wherein he also suffered an injury.

Following the loss of their first two quarterbacks, the San Francisco 49ers had no choice but to turn to their third-string quarterback, Brock Purdy, who was affectionately dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant” during the previous season. Despite the pressure and low expectations, Purdy stepped up and delivered an impressive performance, leading the team to the NFC Championship Game.

However, fate had other plans in store for Purdy, as he, too, suffered an injury, forcing the team to seek out alternative options. One such option included having Purdy execute a few plays with the assistance of his running back, Christian McCaffrey. Nevertheless, the team persevered through these challenges and has moved on from past setbacks.

The fight for the substitute position of QB in the 49ers

For this preseason game, the San Francisco 49ers selected Brock Purdy as their starting quarterback. However, it was later determined that Purdy could not play, resulting in Trey Lance being chosen to start in his place. Unfortunately, Lance’s performance during the game was subpar, with only 112 passing yards being achieved.

Sam Darnold, the newcomer from the Carolina Panthers, entered the game and quickly won over the team, but their efforts did not reflect on the scoreboard.

Las Vegas Raiders got hold of their arsenal

The Raiders set their sights on securing a preseason win in front of their devoted fans, who had eagerly filled the stadium with high hopes and expectations. It was a significant opportunity for the team to showcase their skills and make a strong impression before the regular season commenced. The so-called ‘Death Star’ team had four touchdowns and two field goals to add to their total of 34 points.

In the initial quarter, Zamir White made a remarkable run and covered one yard to score the very first touchdown of the game. Following this, Keelan Cole caught a precise pass from Aidan O’Connell and quickly scored the second touchdown. Sincere McCormick scored the remaining two touchdowns.

The 49ers’ only TD was accidental

In the second quarter of the game, quarterback Trey Lance attempted to throw a pass to wide receiver Malik Turner to score a touchdown. However, the pass was almost intercepted by the opposing team. Fortunately, the ball bounced back and was eventually caught by tight end Ross Dwelley, resulting in the only touchdown that the 49ers scored during the game.
