Who won Sunday Night Football in NFL week 4?
There were some stellar plays and there were some outright duds this week in the NFL, but not to worry we’ve got the lowdown on each and every one.

What happened in NFL Week 4?
In what was probably the headline clash of the week, the Kansas City Chiefs returned to Raymond James Stadium and took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-31. It was the first time the teams were meeting since they faced each other back in Super Bowl LV - a game the Chiefs lost by double digits. Needless to say, Mahomes and Co. would have been well pleased with the result. Elsewhere, Aaron Rodgers picked up his 500th career touchdown, in what turned out to be a battle of endurance against the Patriots and the Raiders got their first win. The Eagles are now the only undefeated team in the league and folks in London got a taste of the action with the 2022 NFL International Series kicking off at Tottenham Hotspur stadium with a game between the Vikings and Saints which Minnesota managed to come out of with a 28-25 win. As for the rest of it, let’s get into it!
Minnesota Vikings 28 - New Orleans Saints 25
It would be fair to say that the Vikings escaped with a win in London. Indeed, with seconds left on the clock, the Saints and their fans could only watch in horror as kicker Wil Lutz’s 61-yard, potentially game-winning field goal attempt, bounced off both the upright and crossbar before falling to the turf. As for the game itself, Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson had quite a night. With 10 catches to the tune of 147 yards and one rushing touchdown, Minnesota’s wideout put on a show.
New York Giants 20 - Chicago Bears 12
It was all about the rushing game for the Giants in their victory. RB Saquon Barkley churned out 146 rushing yards on 31 carries to help take New York to a record of 3-1. On the other side, the Bears lost three fumbles, including a costly one at the end of regulation. In truth, they never did look like they were going to get a result.
Buffalo Bills 23 - Baltimore Ravens 20
QB Josh Allen was the protagonist, as he manufactured a comeback win against the Ravens on the road. Trailing by 10 points at halftime, Allen and Co. would go on to score 13 unanswered points to take their record to 3-1 on the season. On the night, Allen got the better of Ravens star Lamar Jackson, as he completed 19 of 36 passes for 213 yards and two total touchdowns.
Atlanta Falcons 23 - Cleveland Browns 20
The Falcons will be well impressed with their rushing game against the Browns. Quite frankly, despite losing, so too can Cleveland. On the one side, Atlanta rushed for 202 yards as the backfield duo of Cordarrelle Patterson and Caleb Huntley put two touchdowns on the board. Where the Browns are concerned, star RB Nick Chubb who himself is a Georgia native notched an impressive 127 total yards, but was unable to guide his team to victory on his home return.
Los Angeles Chargers 34 - Houston Texans 24
Though they definitely put up a fight, the Texans’ late comeback charge was finally put down by the Chargers who picked up their second win of the season. One of the central reasons for the victory, was Austin Ekeler registered a total of 109 yards and three touchdowns. Mention should be made of Texans rookie Dameon Pierce who continues to have a stellar rookie season. Houston’s new boy put 131 yards on the board with 14 carries and one touchdown, which it has to be said came after a 75-yard run.
New York Jets 24 - Pittsburgh Steelers 20
Following the fuss that was made about who would be the starting QB for Pittsburgh, it was quite something to see Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin take the decision to replace Mitch Trubisky in the middle of the game with rookie Kenny Pickett. Even so, the Steelers couldn’t get the win as the Jets and their QB Zach Wilson put on an inspired comeback to get the win on the road.
Philadelphia Eagles 29 - Jacksonville Jaguars 21
Now the only undefeated team in the NFL, the Eagles are sitting pretty. QB Jalen Hurts, who is already starting to look like an early MVP candidate, gave us another reminder as to why by completing 16-of-25 passes for 204 yards and a rushing touchdown. Though the Jaguars did their best to fight back, through the likes of WR Jamal Agnew who got his hands on four catches to register 50 yards and two touch downs, it was ultimately not enough.
Tennessee Titans 24 - Indianapolis Colts 17
It would be safe to say that the Titans got a routine win against the Colts. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for two touchdowns, while running back Derrick Henry amassed over 100 yards in what seemed to be a ‘business as usual’ type of performance in the AFC South. Credit must be given to Colts RB Jonathan Taylor who rushed 20 times for 42 yards despite being on the losing team.
Seattle Seahawks 48 - Detroit Lions 45
It was tit-for-tat in Detroit when these two met. Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith posted three total touchdowns, while running back Rashaad Penny amassed two scores and 151 yards in what was a stellar performance on the ground. Indeed, it was Penny who broke out of the pack for a 41-yard touchdown with just over 2 minutes left in the game to take Seattle to 48 points.
Dallas Cowboys 25 - Washington Commanders 10
Where the teams’ QBs were concerned it was most definitely a case of mixed fortunes. Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz threw a pair of interceptions, while Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush got himself two touchdowns and a little bit of history as well. In reality, that was the difference between the teams as the Cowboys and their increasingly impressive backup QB took another important step forward.
Green Bay Packers 27 - New England Patriots 24 (OT)
Credit has got to be given to Patriots third-string quarterback Bailey Zappe. Indeed, the new kid on the block became the first rookie to throw a touchdown pass this season, when he found DeVante Parker for a 25-yard score. Though they were able to push the Packers all the way to overtime, the Patriots were ultimately undone by a Green Bay field goal as time on the clock expired in the extra period. Worth mentioning was Aaron Rodgers 251 yards and two touchdowns, the second of which was the 500th of his career.
Arizona Cardinals 26 - Carolina Panthers 16
Though they didn’t come out the blocks firing on all cylinders, the Cardinals would go on to limit the Panthers to just 6 points in the second half. Star QB Kyler Murray threw two touchdowns to the tune of 207 yards, while his counterpart Baker Mayfield tossed one touchdown and two interceptions. Not the best look for the Panthers’ new QB.
Las Vegas Raiders 32 - Denver Broncos 23
The Raiders and their head coach Josh McDaniels will be well pleased having picked up their first win of the season. On the night running back Josh Jacobs got himself two touchdowns as Las Vegas put down the Broncos. What was interesting, was the fact that despite taking a first-quarter lead, Russell Wilson and Co. simply couldn’t keep up with the Raiders offense. There was no better evidence of that, than when Jacobs got himself a score from 10 yards out to give the Raiders a 10-7 lead in the second quarter. It was a lead they would never drop.
Kansas City Chiefs 41 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31
In their first visit to the Raymond James Stadium since losing to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV, the Chiefs exploded. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was quite simply a force of nature on Sunday as he threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Quite frankly, the Chiefs offense as a whole put on a show. On the other side of the divide, Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay weren’t necessarily poor, but it was clear that they couldn’t go toe-for-toe with Mahomes and Co. Perhaps the play that epitomized it all, was when the Chiefs signal caller spun on his defender and chucked a short 2-yard pass to Clyde Edwards-Helaire for a touchdown. School yard stuff really.
