Update:

You’ve heard it a million times and chances are, you either love it or hate it. There aren’t many people who feel neutral about it. That is, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s signature pre-snap cadence: “Yeahhh, here we gooo!”

Well, lucky for those who hate it and unfortunately for those who love it, it looks like it may be going away.

Here we don’t go?

Every quarterback has a cadence to time up the offensive snap. Aaron Rodgers became known for saying “Green 18″ and perhaps most famous was Peyton Manning’s “Omaha” call.

Prescott was starting to become pretty famous for his as well. But now, new head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters in May that the pre-snap cadence will likely change this season. Part of the reason is that the other quarterbacks struggle to match Prescott’s call.

Personally, I find it unfortunate. We’ve gotten used to hearing it and it’s definitely entertaining, so it’ll be sad to see it go. What will he say instead? We’ll find out on Thursday, September 4 when the Cowboys open the NFL regular season with a road game against the reigning Super Bowl champions and NFC East rivals Philadelphia Eagles.
