Why did Tom Brady use the ‘f-bomb’ when asked about retirement?

With speculation about his future continuing intensify with each passing day, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the legendary quarterback finally lost his cool, when answering questions about his stance on retirement.

While there is no doubt that Tom Brady still has what it takes, the reality is at 43-years-old and fresh off of a disappointing campaign, questions about retirement are bound to come. With that said, it looks like the Bucs star has drawn a line where the conversation is concerned and folks would do well not to cross it.

Tom Brady responds to retirement question with expletives

It’s become one of the most popular topics of conversation for NFL fans of late and it may just be that you’re tired of hearing about it. With that in mind, it might give you some pleasure to know that the man himself is also tired, very tired. Indeed, when speaking recently during an appearance on his “Let’s Go” podcast, Tom Brady was asked by Jim gray if he had a timeline with which he was working when it comes to making a decision about his future. As you will hear for yourself, Brady didn’t take kindly to being asked.

“If I knew what I was going to f------ do, I would’ve already f------ done it, OK,” Brady said. “I’m taking it a day at a time.” The interesting thing to note here, is that Brady lost his cool over being asked about time, not whether he had made an actual decision. Yet, to be fair to the seven-time Super Bowl winner, it wasn’t all just about harsh words. Moments after, Brady seemingly acknowledged that Gray was just doing his job when he answered, “I appreciate you asking. Thank you.”

If Tom Brady continues, will he stay with the Buccaneers?

The 2022-23 NFL season was one to forget for the Buccaneers. With a 31-14 loss to the Cowboys, the Bucs season came to an end and with their 8-9 record it marked the first time in Brady’s illustrious career that he ended a campaign with a losing record. Following the defeat, Brady said he would be taking things “one day at a time.” A week later and we’ve had no word, but it would be fair to say that Brady is probably contemplating more than just whether or not he will play again, but rather where he will play if he does.

Adding further weight to that scenario, is the fact that it was reported just last week that a number of his teammates said they don’t expect him to return to Tampa Bay. Indeed, even one of his friends, Julian Edelman, appears to have given that idea more steam. “If he has another season, it’s not going to be in Tampa Bay,” Edelman said on the Jan. 17 episode of “Inside the NFL.” Ultimately, if Brady does decide to take the plunge for one more season, it’s a no-brainer that he will have a plethora of teams asking for his services. From the Dolphins, to the Raiders, or even a return to the Patriots with whom he made history. As we always say, watch this space.
