2024 NFL DRAFT

Why don’t the Panthers have a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft if they had the worst record?

All is set in Detroit to host the NFL Draft, with all 32 teams looking to find the young talent they need to make their rosters more competitive.

Update:
All is set in Detroit to host the NFL Draft, with all 32 teams looking to find the young talent they need to make their rosters more competitive.

The countdown for the 2024 NFL Draft has begun and the best young prospects will be gathering in Detroit, Michigan, to have a taste of what their immediate future will look like.

The Draft will take place from April 25-27 and the No. 1 overall pick is expected to be Caleb Williams to the Chicago Bears. However, there are some other interesting things to consider, as quarterbacks could be taken with the top four picks for the first time in NFL history, and a defensive player could be out of the top 10.

Williams, the most gifted quarterback in the 2024 Draft, is also considered one of the biggest talents in recent years, and many see in him a future star who could get at the same level as Patrick Mahomes.

All the NFL teams will be looking to find the players who will help them build solid rosters before the start of the new campaign.

Why don’t the Panthers have the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft?

One of the teams that desperately needs to make some adjustments and add some quality to be competitive is the Carolina Panthers. Things didn’t go as the franchise planned last season, as they were the worst team in the league with only two wins and 15 defeats.

Dave Canales replaces Frank Reich as the team’s head coach and will work to bring back the best version of Bryce Young. The Panthers have made some changes to their roster, signing edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney to a two-year deal. They also added guards Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis in free agency.

However, they will need more talent if they want to be competitive next term and the team is looking for a wide receiver, a cornerback, and a center. They will need to be patient and aware that they won’t be able to make a first-round pick in the Draft, and the reason for that is because of the trade-up for Bryce Young a year ago.

The Panthers traded away that selection to the Chicago Bears and moved up from the ninth spot to get the Alabama quarterback at No. 1 overall.
