Quarterback Dak Prescott’s future with the Dallas Cowboys remains uncertain as his contract expires at the end of the 2024 NFL season.

While participating in a Children’s Cancer Fund event in Dallas, Prescott revealed to The Athletic that there have been no substantial talks with the franchise’s management regarding a possible contract extension.

Honestly, I’m focused on the here and now. The talks have started, but the real talks have not yet. But right now, I’m not worried about it, and I’ll leave it to my agent and Jerry (Jones),” Prescott said. “When those talks start, I will get more involved.

According to Spotrac, Dak Prescott’s base salary for the 2024 season is $29 million. He will also receive a signing bonus of $13.2 million and an additional bonus of $13.25 million for restructuring his contract. As a result, the total impact on the salary cap will be $55.45 million.

How much money has Dak Prescott made as a quarterback in the NFL?

Dak Prescott signed two contracts during his time in the NFL, and both involved two franchise tags. When he first joined the NFL in 2016 as a fourth-round pick, he signed a four-year deal for $2.72 million after graduating from Mississippi State University.

As he became a valuable franchise quarterback, the Dallas Cowboys retained him in 2020 and 2021 using exclusive franchise tags, paying him $31.4 and $37.69 million, respectively. However, they waived the second tag after Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension.

Including the 2024 season, for which he has yet to receive his salary, Prescott has earned $162.3 million as the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
