On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys finally signed wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a four-year, $136 million contract extension, ending a months-long holdout. As the Cowboys cut their roster down to 53 on Tuesday, they were given a two-game roster exemption for Lamb, who is now placed on the commissioner’s exempt list.

Is CeeDee Lamb injured?

Great news - CeeDee Lamb is NOT injured. On some fantasy football platforms (including ESPN), Lamb is listed as OUT for Week 1 of the regular season, but it’s not because he’s injured. It’s simply because he’s only just returned to practice with the team.

After signing the contract and getting back together with the team, Lamb had just under two weeks to get back into shape and be ready for the season opener on Sunday, September 8 against the Cleveland Browns. Lamb shared social media posts of his workouts all summer long, and with nearly 15 more pounds of lean muscle on him, he looks just fine to start the season with the Cowboys.

However, with any holdout, there’s always the question of if the player will start right away. Lamb is currently only participating in individual drills as he eases into more workouts with the team. Still, physically, Lamb is ready to go come Week 1. The only reason there’s any listing next to his name at all is because the Cowboys are saving his roster spot in the meantime. There’s certainly no reason to panic - quite the contrary. Lamb is back and he’s “ready for battle” with the Cowboys.
