The New York Jets are back from their European trip, but they’ve left more than their jet lag behind — their head coach is gone.

With Robert Saleh’s sudden firing and the new coach, Jeff Ulbrich, already on board, the team faces a vital Monday Night Football season matchup at home against the Buffalo Bills. Both teams are looking to rebound after disappointing Week 5 losses.

The Jets had a tough game where Aaron Rodgers threw a crucial interception to Stephon Gilmore, leading to their defeat. The Bills also suffered a heartbreaking loss after Houston’s Ka’imi Fairbairn made a 59-yard field goal.

Both teams are hoping to turn their seasons around, and the upcoming Monday night game will be crucial in setting the tone. The Bills already defeated the Jets in Week 1, and now both teams are at a crossroads, fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Jets vs Bills: injury report

First and foremost, the NFL and NFL Players Association confirmed that the concussion protocol was followed properly after Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s head injury in last week’s encounter against the Houston Texans. He was evaluated during the game for approximately six minutes, which is by the rules, and has been cleared to play in the Bills’ upcoming game against the Jets.

On the Jets’ side, two players had questionable status before the game. They are C.J. Mosley, who had a toe injury, and Tyler Conklin, who had hip issues. There are no updates on Conklin, but the latest news on Mosley is that he confirmed to the New York Post that he will play against the Bills, after being sidelined for three weeks prior to tonight’s Monday Night Football clash. Mosley plans to share time with Jamien Sherwood, who has been filling in for him admirably during his absence. The only player designated as out for the game is CB Michael Carter II, who hurt his back in pregame last week.

Unfortunately for Bills’ fans, head coach Sean McDermott has confirmed that DT Ed Oliver will not be playing in the Monday night game against the Jets. This will be Oliver’s second consecutive missed game due to a hamstring injury sustained in the defeat to the Ravens.
