Why isn't MarShawn Lloyd playing for the Packers against the Vikings? NFL Week 4 injury status

As the Packers prepare to face off against the Vikings in Week 4, MarShawn Lloyd is dealing with an injury that’s keeping him off the field at a time when Green Bay could really use some fresh legs in the backfield.

The Packers have a host of other concerns on their injury report too. Quarterback Jordan Love is questionable with a knee issue, and if he’s not cleared, Malik Willis might have to take the reins again. Love has been limited in practice this week, and while head coach Matt LaFleur remains hopeful, nothing is certain yet. “Anytime he’s out there, that’s encouraging, but again we’ll see,” LaFleur said after Friday’s practice. It’s a tough situation for Green Bay, but they’ve seen Willis guide the team to wins before. Still, this game carries more weight.

Then there’s the defense. Cornerback Jaire Alexander, one of the key figures in Green Bay’s secondary, is also questionable after sitting out of Friday’s practice. He’s been dealing with quadriceps and groin issues, which kept him limited earlier in the week before he had to fully sit out on Friday. LaFleur is clear on his concerns about that. “Anytime a guy doesn’t practice, it’s definitely a concern,” he said. And he’s not wrong - without Alexander, the Packers’ defense will feel a significant gap, especially against a Vikings team that thrives in the air.

The injury list doesn’t stop there. Cornerback Carrington Valentine is doubtful with an ankle issue, and offensive lineman Jordan Morgan has already been ruled out with a shoulder injury. The Packers are looking thin in several key areas, and that could make for a long Sunday if those players can’t find a way to get healthy.

Meanwhile, the Vikings have their own problems. Linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. is out with an ankle injury, and they’re keeping an eye on other players dealing with nagging issues, but overall, Minnesota is in better shape heading into the matchup.

Even with all these injuries, one of the biggest losses for Green Bay is Lloyd. He’s a dynamic player who brings speed and power to the running game, and the Packers are missing that spark right now. His absence puts more pressure on the rest of the offense to step up, especially if Love isn’t 100%. It’s tough timing for Green Bay, but injuries are part of the game, and it’s about how they respond.
