Update:

The Dallas Cowboys begin their 2025 NFL campaign away to the reigning champions. The Philadelphia Eagles will test Brian Schottenheimer’s team to the limit, both teams head into the game after contrasting fortunes in the preseason - the Cowboys finished their preparations with defeats to the Angels and the Ravens, but ended with a confidence-boosting win against Atlanta.

The Eagles finished 2-1, with just one 22-13 defeat to the Browns, sandwiched between victories over the Jets and the Bengals.

There was some positive news last week, with the return of two players. Cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered a knee injury last season but was taken off the PUP list, while left tackle Tyler Guyton was also activated - he has been out since July with a bone fracture. Both are expected to suit up at Lincoln Financial Field.

Winfrey made to wait for Cowboys debut

Just one player has been ruled out of Thursday night’s game. Defensive Tackle Perrion Winfrey had to be helped back to the locker room after sustaining a back injury in Sunday’s practice.

Winfrey joined the Cowboys on a two-year deal from United Football League (UFL) team, the Birmingham Stallions in June. He made made six starts in 10 regular season appearances for the Stallions in 2025, finishing with 29 tackles, two for loss, one sack, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble as well as making the 2025 All-UFL team.
