Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Jets against the Bills? MNF Week 6 injury status

The Jets will be looking to stem their poor run of results when they face Buffalo at the MetLife Stadium.

It’s a time of transition for the New York Jets following two back to back defeats (a home loss to the Broncos and a defeat at the hands of the Vikings in London), in Weeks 3 and 4 respectively which led to Robert Saleh being relieved in his position as head coach with Jeff Ulbrich, the Jets defensive coordinator being given the task of overseeing a team that for many had been underperforming as interim head coach.

“I’m going to be me, and I have tremendous love and respect for this team, for this roster, for this locker room, for this group of coaches,” Ulbrich said ahead of the clash against Buffalo. “And I really believe, we lock arms, we commit to the process that we put in place – we will have success. We will.”

The Bills come into Monday’s game too desperate to turn things around after also slipping up in their past two outings as they fell to the Texans and Ravens in Weeks 4/5 and it appears that the side from Buffalo may be set to miss their offensive pair of playmakers – RB James Cook (toe) and WR Khalik Shakir (ankle), who both remain doubtful of playing at the MetLife Stadium on monday night.

Rodgers return

There is some good news though for Jets’ fans ahead of the Monday night game as quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been removed from the team’s injury report for the Week 6 contest with the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers has been dealing with an ankle sprain which he suffered during last week’s loss to the Vikings in London as the veteran struggled at the end of a play when multiple Minnesota players appeared to fall on him, twisting his ankle awkwardly and despite a visit to the injury tent, Rodgers was able to finish the game.

The 40-year-old Rodgers trained normally on Saturday with interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich confirming: ”there were “no thoughts of any time he’ll miss on Monday night.”

The NY Jets and Buffalo Bills kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday night at MetLife Stadium (New Jersey).
