Will CeeDee Lamb play for the Cowboys against the Bengals? NFL injury update
Lamb, 25, suffered a flare-up of an ongoing shoulder problem during the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving victory over the Giants.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb says he’ll be OK to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, despite aggravating an ongoing shoulder issue in the team’s Thanksgiving win over the New York Giants.
Having sustained an acromioclavicular (AC) joint sprain in the Cowboys’ Week 9 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons in early November, Lamb suffered a flare-up of the problem during the 27-20 win over the Giants nine days ago. He was unable to take part in practice on Thursday and was a limited participant on Friday, but told reporters that he’ll be “fine” for Dallas’s Monday Night Football clash with the Bengals.
What did CeeDee Lamb say about MNF vs Bengals?
“I still have the shoulder injury, which I’ve been dealing with for about four or five weeks now,” Lamb said. “It comes with the territory, man. It’s about being a baller and it’s about going out there and sacrificing and putting yourself out there for your guys, and that’s what I’m doing. As far as Monday goes, I’ll be fine by then.”
Lamb, who suffered a similar injury during his college football career in 2017, added that coping with such a persistent shoulder issue is “not a pleasant feeling”. “Everyone that’s experienced an AC sprain, they understand what I’m going through,” he said.
“You’ve got to take it day to day. You’ve got to stay on it. You’ve got to keep recovering. Even when it starts feeling good, you’ve got to stay on it. So with that, it’s a bit tricky, but it ain’t nothing I haven’t been dealing with before.”
A three-time Pro Bowler, Lamb has started all 12 of the Cowboys’ games this season, receiving for 880 yards and four touchdowns, having managed 79 receptions from 124 passes. He has also registered 69 rushing yards from 13 attempts.
Bengals vs Cowboys: when, where, how to watch?
Played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Week 14 match-up between the Bengals and the Cowboys takes place on Monday December 9, 2024, with kick-off scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET/5:15 p.m. PT.
Viewers in the US can watch the game on ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, ESPN+, ESPN Deportes and Disney+. You can stream ESPN and ABC on the online platform fubo, which offers new users a free introductory trial.
Currently outside the playoff picture, the 5-7 Cowboys need at least four wins from their remaining five games if they are to have any chance of snatching a postseason spot. Third in the NFC East, Dallas are the 12th-best team in the NFC as things stand.
The Bengals also face an uphill battle to make the playoffs: Zac Taylor’s men are 4-8 after three straight losses, most recently to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cincinnati are third in the AFC North and 10th in the conference standings.
