Will Davante Adams play for the Jets against the Steelers in week 7?
The wide receiver joined the Jets just a few days ago in a deal with the Raiders that includes a 2025 conditional third-round pick. He’s been out with a hamstring injury for three weeks.
It’s been an eventful few days for Davante Adams. On Monday, the 31-year-old wide receiver was traded to the New York Jets in a deal that includes a 2025 conditional third-round pick (a second-round pick if he is selected for the All-Pro team, or takes part in the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl LIX).
This season, he has played three games for the Raiders with 18 receptions for 209 receiving yards and one touchdown. A hamstring injury sustained in training on 26 September has kept him out of action since then but no one was expecting him to hand in a trade request.
Ulbrich update on Jets injury list
On board with the Jets since Tuesday, Adams has completed three full practices and his hamstring injury was not mentioned when coach Jeff Ulbrich gave a press briefing on Friday. “Michael Carter with his back, he’ll be out of the game. DJ Reed, got the groin, he’ll be at game day eval. [Tyler] Conklin, got the hip - that’s looking good at this point, Chazz [Surratt] with the heel, that’s looking good as well. Just finished a week of prep. I thought it was excellent, guys are focused, dialed in, got a good plan on all three sides of the ball and we’re excited to go out to Pittsburgh”.
Adams is one of 10 names on the Jets injury report but his status hasn’t been specified which suggests that he should be available to make his debut at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday night.
The 2024 NFL Week 7 regular season matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets will take place at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh and is scheduled to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday 20 October 2024. The game will be televised by NBC and available to stream on NFL+.
The Jets are third in the AFC East with a 2-4 record and will be looking to get back to winning ways following last week’s loss to the Bills. The Steelers sit second in the AFC North, trailing the Ravens on points but both have the same record, 4-2. They head into Sunday’s game on the back of a 32-13 win in Las Vegas last week.
