The Miami Dolphins’ running back depth will be tested tonight against the Buffalo Bills as they have ruled out starting running back Raheem Mostert and listed De’Von Achane as questionable.

Will Achane play vs Bills?

Mostert is dealing with a chest injury that could potentially see him sidelined beyond Week 2, so Achane being questionable is not good for the ‘Fins. Achane is dealing with an ankle injury that he picked up during the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. The Dolphins struggled to get the run game going in Week 1. Achane finished with 10 carries for 24 yards and a touchdown, plus seven receptions for 76 yards. On the last play of the game, he limped off the field.

This being a short week does not help Achane’s case, but in positive news, he did practice with the team on Wednesday. He was limited, but he was able to do some unit drills.

As for tonight’s game against the Bills, head coach Mike McDaniels said “we’ll see”.

Achane is officially listed as questionable on the injury report, but will ultimately be a game-time decision. If he’s unable to play, the Dolphins will look to veteran Jeff Wilson Jr. and rookie fourth-round pick Jaylen Wright. Wright stood out in preseason, but was inactive for Week 1, so he would be making his NFL debut tonight. Wilson led the running backs in rushing yards last week with 26 on five carries.
