Will DeWayne Carter play for the Bills against the 49ers in Week 13? Latest injury report
The rookie defensive tackle has been recovering after undergoing an operation on his wrist.
DeWayne Carter is nearing the end of his rehabilitation and had hoped to be in contention for Sunday’s matchup with the 49ers at Highmark stadium.
The rookie defensive injured his wrist towards the end of the Bill’s 34-10 Week 7 home win over the Tennessee Titans. He underwent surgery and was placed on injury reserve. Head coach Sean McDermott had been hopeful of having him back by the end of last month.
Carter nearing return
Carter completed all three of last week’s practice sessions and was initially listed as questionable for the Week 13 visit from San Francisco. However, at the last minute he was downgraded and will sit out the game.
Carter, who was selected by the Bills in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, could return next week when McDermott’s team are back on the road, facing the Rams in Los Angeles. He has missed four games - the wins against the Seahawks, Dolphins, Colts and Chiefs.
The 23-year-old played in seven games during the regular season, starting two, with four tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and a total of nine tackles.
The Week 13 game between the 49ers and Bills will be played at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York on Sunday 1 December and is scheduled to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET.
