Will Jalen Carter play for the Eagles in Week 2 vs the Chiefs?
The Eagles DT was suspended for their opening game after spitting on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. Now, Philly prepares for a Super Bowl rematch vs Chiefs.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Kansas City for a Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Chiefs. And it looked like they could be heading into that game without their All-Pro defensive tackle Jalen Carter as they waited for news of a potential punishment. The league recently revealed what that will be.

If you somehow missed it, Carter got himself ejected from the Eagles’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys just six seconds into the game before he’d even taken a snap. He got in Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s face and spit directly on him, leading to a penalty and immediate suspension for the rest of the game.

The Eagles defense missed him, but not too badly as they were able to beat Dallas 24-20 in the end. Against the revenge-hungry Chiefs offense, however, they’re going to want all the manpower they can get. Thankfully, the league decided to allow him to play in Week 2.
The NFL, which is emphasizing sportsmanship in 2025, gave Carter a hefty fine of $57,222 (his weekly salary). However, they decided that his ejection from the season opener against the Cowboys would count as a one-game suspension.

That means Carter is in for their rematch against the Chiefs this Sunday, which is good news for Philly as they face Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and company.
