Jayden Daniels plays for the Washington Commanders against the Bears on Week 8 | Latest injury update
The Commanders quarterback, second overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, has been dealing with a rib injury picked up against the Panthers.
Big news out of the Washington Commanders camp. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels started today against the Chicago Bears (kick off at 4:35 p.m. ET), having avoided any late setbacks.
The Louisiana State University player picked up a rib injury against the Carolina Panthers in last week’s 40-7 Commanders’ win. Backup QB Marcus Mariota finished that game.
Much anticipated rookie match up in Bears vs Commanders
With this news it means we got what everyone was looking forward to: a clash between the number one and two picks in this year’s draft.
Caleb Williams went first pick to the Chicago Bears, with Jayden Daniels going second pick to the Commanders.
What’s more, both have started well, with each team having a winning record. The Commanders come in 5-2 for the season, while the Bears are 4-2.
Daniels has completed 75.6% of his passes, for 8.4 yards per attempt, with six touchdowns and two interceptions. Williams meanwhile has thrown for 65.3% of his passes, with 6.6 yards per attempt, with nine touchdowns, but five interceptions.
