Will Taylor Swift be in Cleveland for the Chiefs vs Browns game today, Sunday December 15?
‘Swifties’ in Cleveland are hopeful that the pop star will end her absence from the Chiefs’ road games when Kansas City face the Browns today.
It remains unclear whether pop icon Taylor Swift will on Sunday end her season-long absence from the Kansas City Chiefs’ road games, as the back-to-back Super Bowl champions visit the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.
Why has Swift only been at Chiefs' home games?
A regular Chiefs watcher since she began dating Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce in 2023, Swift has attended six of the team’s games this term - but they have all been at Arrowhead Stadium, the Missourians’ home arena.
It’s worth noting, though, that a number of the Chiefs’ away games in 2024 have clashed with concerts on Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour, which is now over. The 35-year-old, who celebrated her birthday on Friday, played her final Eras show in Vancouver on December 8, so work commitments appear less likely to prevent the 14-time Grammy winner from attending this weekend.
However, it was reported earlier this season that Swift, who in August had to cancel Eras Tour shows in Vienna after authorities warned of a planned terrorist attack, has also been sitting out Kansas City away games for security reasons. Whenever she follows the team on the road, the singer-songwriter has to send her detail ahead of her to comprehensively scope out the match’s venue.
“If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns,” a source told Page Six in September. “She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable.” An insider told the same media outlet in October: “She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance.”
This week, the Canton Repository cited a representative at Kansas City’s home stadium, Huntington Bank Field, as saying he had received no word that Swift was planning to be at the arena for the Chiefs vs the Browns.
“See where your man is from”
But as Cleveland is Kelce’s home town, ‘Swifties’ are remaining hopeful that the pop star will make the Ohio city her first away destination of the NFL season. “Why not come to this one?” one Swift fan told News5Cleveland on Friday. “This is where Travis is from, so it makes sense […]. Come to Cleveland. See where your man is from.”
While Swift has been a no-show on the road so far, she had been to all of the Chiefs’ 2024 home games until last weekend, when her Canada concert caused her to miss Kansas City’s 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
That victory took the Chiefs, who are chasing an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl championship, to 12-1 for the regular season. Having already clinched both a playoff place and the AFC West division title, Kansas City are now chasing the AFC’s No. 1 seed, which would bring a first-round bye and home-field advantage at every stage of the postseason before February’s Super Bowl.
