Will the Miami Dolphins or the NFL punish the Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill now that he’s set to face charges for assault?

The investigation into the Dolphins star’s alleged assault on an individual at a Miami marina has determined that he is in fact culpable. That’s not good.

The prolific wide receiver has been in trouble before for violent conduct, something that only adds further weight to the idea that it may be time for a more severe form of punishment. What that might be, remains to be seen.

Tyreek Hill set to face charges for assault

If you caught our previous report, you would have seen that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was under investigation for assault and battery after it was alleged that he attacked a marina employee this past Sunday - Father’s Day. Now, it seems that Hill will in fact face charges after Miami-Dade Police confirmed to the media that the victim has decided to press charges against the player. Though neither Hill nor the alleged victim is named in the incident report that was released by law enforcement officials, it’s understood that this is the situation as it stands.

To be clear, reports previously indicated that on Father’s Day, the 29-year-old allegedly struck a man working at Haulover Marina in Miami. It is understood that the incident which saw Hill slap the employee on the back of the head, began after Hill and his group boarded a boat without permission. As per reports, boat employees told police that Hill said, “I can buy you and the boat,” and, “I’m No. 10 with the Miami Dolphins.”

What else do we know about the Tyreek Hill incident?

One interesting point to note is that the incident report claims the alleged altercation was captured on surveillance video, however, we are yet to see any footage of the situation. Per reports, the alleged victim was told by Police that if they wished to pursue any criminal charges, it would require a visit to the state attorney’s office. Where the Dolphins are concerned, they acknowledged the incident in a brief statement but declined to say anything further. “We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives, and the NFL. We will reserve further comment at this time.” It remains unclear as to whether Hill will face any form of punishment from his team or the league itself.
