The clock is ticking and it would seem the Bucs star hasn’t fully recovered, but he’s not on the injury report and that’s something.

Though he’s not been included on the injury report, the legendary quarterback doesn’t appear to be completely over the issue he has a finger on his throwing hand.

Tom Brady is not on the ‘injury report’

Eyebrows were raised on Thursday, with the realization that Tom Brady was not officially listed on the Buccaneers’ injury report. While that may seem like good news, the veteran QB could be seen in some discomfort as he participated in the practice session. Indeed, Brady - it was confirmed by those present - was constantly shaking and examining the ring finger on his right - the throwing hand - during practice. As reported, after each pass thrown, Brady would look down at his hand just before giving it a shake. Observers even noted, that at one point he received spray on the affected hand.

How did Tom Brady hurt his finger?

On the latest episode of his “Let’s Go” podcast (Monday), Brady disclosed that it was during Week 2′s win against the New Orleans Saints, when he hurt his finger. “I banged it up pretty good,” he said. “But, you know, it didn’t affect me at all in the game. It’s just going to be sore throughout the week. One of those bumps and bruises that come along with playing. ...It’s demolition derby out there. It’s who can recover fast enough in order to put yourself in a position to practice, prepare and then go play well the next week.” Interestingly, Brady wouldn’t be drawn on Thursday when asked about the finger saying, he felt “great” before getting cryptic with “”it’s football season, so...”

What happens now for Tom Brady?

Reality is this, back in 2017 Brady played in an AFC Championship following 12 stitches being put in his hand that very week. The idea that’s he hasn’t been listed on the injury report and moreover is actually throwing in practice, would seem to indicate that we can expect to see TB12 on Sunday. On the other hand, one could argue that this is an older man. That’s fair, but ask yourself this: Do you really think Tom Brady’s not going to play?
