“You want to fight, let’s f***ing fight”: Cowboys training halted as brawls break out
The preseason preparation for the Dallas Cowboys hasn’t gone to plan, with a number of serious injuries and fights breaking out.

After a poor 2024 season, Dallas Cowboys fans will have been watching on eagerly for signs of promise at this summer’s training. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been much reason for optimism so far.
The Cowboys have began their preparations with a series of injuries, some of which may be serious. Offensive guard Robert Jones has reportedly broken a bone in his neck. Cornerback Caelen Carson has a hyper-extension of the knee. Tackle Tyler Guyton fractured a bone.
On Wednesday a new problem surfaced: in-fighting. New Dallas coach Brian Schottenheimer struggled to maintain control as a number of fights broke out during the practice session, forcing the coach to take matters into his own hands.
Too much fighting, and Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer isn’t happy. “You want to fight, let’s f—cking fight. Get your ass on the sideline.”

“You want to fight, let’s f***ing fight. Get your ass on the sideline,” the Dallas coach yelled, before making the players run lengths of the field.
The most serious offender was rookie linesman Ajani Cornelius, who reportedly threw a punch during one particularly physical scuffle. He was kicked out of practice by Schottenheimer as a result.
It’s been a tough start to life in Dallas for Schottenheimer, who is preparing for his first season as a head coach in NFL. He has been promoted from coaching analyst to offensive coordinator and finally to HC with the Cowboys.
His approach has already drawn praise from star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who spoke to the press after the session.
“I like what he’s doing. We need discipline,” Lamb told reporters after Schottenheimer was forced to lay down the law on Wednesday. “Shout out to him for that.”
