Shooting gold for South Korea's Oh

We have another gold medal to tell you about on day two!

South Korea now have their second gold of the 2024 Games, after Oh Ye-jin took victory in the women's 10m air pistol final. She scored 243.2, which is a new Olympic record.

Silver also went to a South Korean competitor, Kim Ye-ji, while India's Manu Bhaker completes the podium.

Who won Team USA's only gold so far?

ICYMI, Team USA secured their sole gold in Paris thus far in the swimming yesterday, thanks to victory in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay. The US took the gold medal ahead of Australia and Italy.

Australia still top of medal table

Having won their third gold of the 2024 Olympics, China have drawn level with Australia's haul so far.

The Australians remain top of the medal table, though, as they have two silvers to China's none.

Another gold for China

We have the first medal winners of day two! In shooting, China’s Yu Xie has earned his country its third gold of the Paris Games, after taking victory in the men’s 10m air pistol final. 

The podium is completed by two Italians: Federico Maldini has taken silver, with Paolo Monna winning bronze.

Italy now have five medals at Paris 2024 - but are yet to claim their first gold.

Australia's trio of wins saw them leapfrog China at the top of the medal, after the Chinese had established themselves as the early frontrunners by claiming the first two golds of the games.

In shooting, Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao won the first gold medal at Paris 2024 when they were victorious in the final of the mixed team 10m air rifle event.

Soon afterwards, divers Yani Chang and Yiwen Chen won the women’s synchronised 3m springboard final.

Australia top medal table on day one

Australia lead the medal count after day one, having picked up three gold medals.

Two came in swimming: Ariarne Titmus took gold in the women’s 400m freestyle, and there was also Australian glory in the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay. Titmus retained the title she won at Tokyo 2020, while the relay win was Australia's fourth in a row in the event!

In road cycling, meanwhile, Grace Brown was victorious.
