2024 Olympics in Paris: USA swimming: medal tally, winners and records
At the conclusion of this swimming Olympic cycle, the management of Team USA should be pleased with their performance at the Paris Olympic Games.
In the notoriously slow pool of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games swimming competitions, Team USA once again demonstrated their domination by winning the most medals and topping the medal table with 25 medals. However, Team Australia may still hold the advantage in the number of gold medals, with 7 golds (16 in total) compared to the 6 golds won by the American swimmers.
Katie Ledecky opened the medal account for Team USA on the first day of competition by winning a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle swimming event. She was later joined in success by Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh, Torri Huske, Simone Manuel, Erika Connolly, and Abbey Weitzel, who won the silver medal in the Women’s 4x100m freestyle swimming event. The first day of competitions concluded with Jack Alexj, Chris Guiliano, Hunter Armstrong, Caeleb Dressel, Ryan Held, and Matt King winning the first gold medal in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle swimming event.
