How many athletes are in the American delegation at Paris 2024?

The countdown continues ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games ahead of Friday’s Opening Ceremony with the competition officially running from 26 July to Sunday, 11 August 2024, although there will be a series of qualifying events commencing ahead of the official opening date on 24 July.

USA, the country with the most athletes at the Paris games

’Team USA’ will have the largest number of participating athletes in the French capital with 592 athletes set to compete across the various disciplines with 314 women and 278 men forming part of the US delegation which will be the most numerous of all participating nations and the fourth consecutive Olympic Games with more women than men on the participation list for the United States.

Athletes from forty-six states compose the US delegation with California boasting the highest number of participants with 120 athletes, followed by Florida with 42. Texas with 41 and Illinois and Pennsylvania with 27 are also among the states with the highest number of competing athletes.

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers basketball player and two-time Olympic gold medalist, will be the flag bearer of the United States delegation during the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
