Once again, the Bercy Arena in Paris became the stage that stole all the spotlights on Day 8 of activities at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with special attention paid to the exhilarating performance of American gymnast Simone Biles in the individual vault final.
Biles takes Olympic medals tally to seven
After beating Brazilian Rebeca Andrade and her compatriot Jade Carey, Biles managed to win her third Olympic gold at this Paris 2024 event, taking her personal overall tally to seven Olympic gold medals in a brilliant career - one which could get even better before these Games are over.
After today’s latest achievement, Biles is one step away from writing a new and historic feat that will undoubtedly place her as the best gymnast in the history of the Olympic Games.
With two finals still to go, Simone has the chance to extend her list of gold medals won at Paris 2024 to five - setting a new personal best at the Olympic Games, surpassing the four gold medals she won in Rio 2016.

Biles on the verge of becoming the most successful gymnast at the Olympic Games
Simone Biles is now in second place in the all-time list of Olympic gymnasts with the most gold medals. With her victory on Saturday, she has equalled Vera Caslavska with a total of seven gold medals.

However, with two finals still to go, Biles can go down in history as the gymnast with the most gold medals in Olympic history, tying Larisa Latynina, who won nine gold medals representing the Soviet Union.
Biles will compete in the balance beam final on Sunday and in the floor exercise final on Monday - two competitions in which she is also the favorite to win Olympic gold.
