Anthony Edwards is currently trending and with good reason. He had 26 points and this windmill dunk to bring Team USA to the next round of the Olympics in style. 

There will be a draw to determine the matchups in the next round. Team USA, Germany and Canada all finished undefeated in their groups so they will wait for the draw to find out who they will be taking on in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, August 6th.

LeBron had a "quiet" game, but that still consisted of 10 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists on a shortened shift as Steve Kerr let him, Steph Curry and Anthony Davis rest with an eye on the knock out rounds. 

Joel Embiid has had an interesting run in this Olympics. Between being booed by the French fans, still battling through injury and getting benched last game against South Sudan, he had plenty to prove in this game today. He had 15 points and 3 rebounds and was seen egging the French fans on, at times taunting them. 

It's been LeBron setting the tone for Team USA for the first few games of the Olympics and even dating back to the exhibition tour. Today they were playing an opponent that hung with them for the first 10 minutes, but once Anthony Edwards got cooking, there was no stopping him or Team USA. 

Team USA continued demonstrating their dominance with another convincing performance in a blow out win over Puerto Rico in Lille on Saturday afternoon. Anthony Edwards brought a spark off the bench and lifted his team to victory with 26 points in the 104-83 win to wrap up group stages.

TEAM USA WINS THE GROUP AFTER THREE WINS IN THREE GAMES, AND THEY GO ON TO THE GROUP STAGES AS THE HEAVY FAVORITES FOR THE GOLD MEDAL!

Edwards drills a three ball and sticks it! He's got 26 on the game!

Thompson with a shot put floater in the lane and gets it to fall off the back iron. 

Howard was left open from the top of the key and he drills it. 

Edwards weaving through the lane and he lays it off the glass. No doubt who the MVP of the game is today. 

Edwards sniffed out the pass, picked it off and took it all the way for a windmill slam!

WE ARE AT THE END OF THE THIRD QUARTER AND TEAM USA ARE IN COMPLETE CONTROL WITH 10 MINUTES TO GO!!

Thompson jacks a three from the wing and he drills it for his first bucket of the game. 

Edwards off the dribble and he eurosteps his way to the iron and finishes with the reverse. 

Edwards pulls up from the corner and he gets the friendly roll here from Lille! He's flirting with 20 points. Thought it was a three but it looks like his foot was on the line. 

Beautiful reverse around and under the defenders from Ortiz! 

Davis spots up from the elbow and drops the flat footed jumper. 

Edwards off the dribble and he pulls up from the top of the key! Three ball is good for Team USA's leading scorer. 

Timeout PR with 3:07 to go in the 3rd quarter. 

Durant left open on the wing and Davis found him for the spot up three ball!

Romero sends Davis to the line and he hits both FTs.

Alvarado jacks a three ball from the wing and he sticks it over Curry!

Embiid steps into a three and drills it while running back on defense imploring the fans to keep up the jeering. 

LeBron with a block on one end, picks up the loose ball and soars for the coast to coast slam!

Romero inside and his jump hook falls off the front of the rim. 

Embiid to the line after the foul on Romero and he hits both FTs with a chorus of whistles and boos from the French fans. 

Romero fouled by LeBron but he misses both FTs. 

Turnover from PR and LeBron leaves it for Booker to lay it in. He's got 9 points. 

Alvarado with the first bucket of the half, slithering to the bucket for a tough lay up in traffic. 

WE ARE BACK IN LILLE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF ACTION!!!

We had a feeling that Anthony Edwards was going to show up in this game, and he did in the second quarter. He's got 12 rebounds and 3 assists off the bench, and looks to be carrying this team in a game that Team USA knows doesn't mean a whole lot considering they have already won the group. 

Jose Alvarado and Puerto Rico came out swinging and had a shocking lead over USA after 10 minutes. Alvarado has 13 points and 2 assists but the Puerto Ricans couldn't keep it up in the second quarter. 

WE ARE AT HALFTIME HERE FROM LILLE!!!

Team USA take a 9 point lead after a 39-16 second quarter. 

Clavell missed the three and LeBron released to the other basket for the slam in transition!

Clavell called for an unsportsmanlike foul on Booker who was in the open court and he hits both FTs, and Team USA will get the ball back. 

LeBron finds Booker cutting to the bucket and he gets the lay up to go and the foul! FT is good from Booker. 

Ford with the slam down the lane after Howard hit him in stride. 

Curry running the break and he misses the FT but LeBron was there for the put back slam off!

LeBron to the line after the foul on Ford and he hits both FTs. 

Embiid pulls up with his patented FT line jumper and hits it, and then taunts the crowd here in Lille again. 

Curry drops a three ball from the wing! That's two for Curry, but at least he's having a better game then he did against South Sudan. 

Embiid catches the entry pass inside and lays it up and in off the feed from LeBron, and then goes back down the court with his hand to his ears egging on the French fans in the house. 

Alvarado hits the mid range jumper to pull PR back to within 3. 

LeBron with the dish to Tatum and he puts it on the deck for the lay up off the bank. 

Ford off the pick and roll and he hits Romero slashing to the bucket for the one handed slam! PR are still hanging around. 

Ford follows his own miss and puts it back up and in. 

Davis to the line after the foul on Romero and he hits both FT.s 

Edwards to the line after the foul on Reed and he maks one of two FTs

KD drills a three ball from the corner, and the US might just be starting to find their feel. 

Edwards slashes to the bucket and lays it up and in. 

Conditt off the dribble inside and he puts it up and in. 

KD pulls up from the mid range and he hits it from the elbow.

KD missed the three ball but US got the rebound and kicked it back to KD at the top of the key for three!

WE ARE AT THE END OF THE FIRST QUARTER FROM LILLE AND THE PUERTO RICANS ARE LEADING THE US BY 5!!!

Edwards starting to take over and he lays it up and in through traffic. 

Clavell pulls up from long range and he drops another three ball for Puerto Rico!

Toro going strong to the bucket and he lays it up and in. The way Puerto Rico has started this game is incredible.

Alvarado with another three ball!! What did we say pre game? He's going to be the one that's going to trouble Team USA> 

Tatum picks up the loose ball and finds Booker who got it back to him for the transition slam. 

Embiid spots up from the FT line and he's on the board for the first tme. 

Reed follows up the miss and smashes home the rebound down the lane!

Curry spots up from three point range and drills it! He struggled last game. Let's see if that gets him going.

Tatum follows up the miss from LeBron and puts it back up and in. 

Alvarado drills a three from the top of the key!

Tatum pulls up with a foo inside the three point line and he gets the friendly roll. 

Conditt with a mid range jumper from the elbow and that goes. He's got a couple quick buckets. 

Tatum down low and he gets the lay in to fall in traffic.

LeBron driving to the bucket and taking the contact before hitting the lay up with the foul! FT is no good for the NBA's All-Time leading scorer. 

Alvarado to the line and he hits one of two FTs. PR are still in the lead. 

Reed spots up from the elbow and give Puerto Rico the lead for the first time today. Let's let how long they can hold on to it. 

Alvarado gets into the paint and floats one up and in for PR's first points. 

Embiid finds Tatum down low for the slam and the two that were benched in the first two games combine for a big jam to start the day from Lille.

Team USA doesn't know who they will play in the next game. There will be a draw that will take place once the group stages come to an end after this game is over. The top two teams after the group stages will be in separate brackets, and no team can play against a team from their group. Other than that, everything is up for grabs. 

Embood in Paris

Joel Embiid is having far from a dream debut in the Olympics. The former NBA MVP has been booed by the home fans in France after pledging his allegiance to France years ago, but then turning his back on the host nation and electing to play with Team USA. He is used to getting booed, and jeered so he welcomes it, but between that and his knee injury that still is lingering nothing has been coming easy for the seven footer. On top of that, he was the one that got benched against South Sudan, and sat on the sideline looking rather uninterested in what was happening on the court. Today, Steve Kerr will bring Embiid back to the hardwood, and he will be eager to make a statement before heading into the knockout round.

Star watch: Puerto Rico

There aren’t many players on Puerto Rico that you will recognize, but if you’ve ever seen the New Orleans Pelicans play you know you Jose Alvarado is. The pesky point guard that is good for a couple steals a game in the NBA will be looking to lock down the stars of Team USA. So far it hasn’t been enough to bring the Puerto Ricans a win, but you can bet if the islanders are in the game late on it is going to be because of the crafty point guard that wreaks havoc on opposing ball handlers. 

Star watch: USA

It’s been LeBron leading the way from the very start of the last few games and taking over when his team is in need late down the stretch. Today I’ll be looking for someone else to step up and have a big day. It was KD in the first game against Serbia. Bam showed up against South Sudan. Today I think Anthony Edwards has his break out Olympic performance. He was the one that said he’s the No. 1 scoring option. 

Last game: Puerto Rico

It was ugly from the start for a Puerto Rico team that scored just 12 points in the opening 10 minutes against Serbia last game. They were dominated around the paint, allowing 30 more rebounds to the Serbians and while giving up 70% shooting from inside the arc. Nikola Jokic had his way  against an undersized, under-matched Puerto Rico team. The Joker has 14 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assist. An assists away from a triple double on a night where he did something no other player in Olympic history did, score 10+ points, pull down 15+ rebounds and give 5+ assists as Serbia cruised. 

Last game: USA 

In the lead up to opening ceremonies Team USA took on a South Sudan in an exhibition that everyone thought they would steamroll through. That wasn’t the case as the 13 year old country with no indoor basketball courts nearly pulled the upset of the century, eventually losing by a point. The US made no mistake in their second crack at South Sudan. They controlled the game from the top off to the final buzzer. Bam Adebayo led his side with 18 points and 7 rebounds while Steve Kerr’s guys kept South Sudan at a comfortable distance until the end. 

We are live from Lille

Hello everyone and welcome to the final game of groups stages here in the Men’s 5x5 Olympic basketball tournament. There was one heavy favorite for the gold medal coming into the Olympic Games from Paris, and they have only enhanced their odds over the last couple games. After a few shaky performances in the exhibition tour, LeBron have looked dominant and have their lightest test of group stages before turning their attention to the knockout rounds. Puerto Rico’s Olympic adventure is over, but there are some familiar faces looking to stun the United States and send them into the quarters shrouded in doubt. 

Team USA vs. Puerto Rico

It’s the final game of group play and so far Team USA haven’t just been perfect they have been dominant in their first two wins. Today LeBron James, Stephen Curry and the rest of Steve Kerrs squad take on a Puerto Rico team looking to make a grand exit to their Olympic campaign with what would be a shocking win against the US.
