Who will top the medal table this year?

In France, Team USA will look to continue its dominance of the Olympics medal table. The Americans have led the standings at six of the last seven Summer Games, including each of the last three.

In Tokyo in 2021, the USA pipped China to top spot, earning one more gold medals than the Chinese (39 to 38).

The bookmakers have installed the USA as the clear frontrunners to win the most golds once more, offering odds of -500 on victory for the Stars and Stripes. China are the second favourites, with odds of +300, followed by three countries - France, Great Britain and Japan - who are back on +8000.
