Update:

Last week, Simone Biles became the first American women to win two gold medals in the all-around and vault, and the first of any nationality to do so since Czech gymnast Vera Caslavska in 1968. On Monday, the 27-year-old has the chance to add two more medals to her name when she competes in the women’s balance beam and floor exercise finals in Paris.

How many Olympic medals has Simone Biles won?

With Biles also being one of the United States’ ‘Golden Girls’ that won the women’s team all-around in France, she has taken her Olympic medal haul to 10 (seven golds, one silver and two bronzes).

That means she is joint third with Agnes Keleti (Hungary) and Polina Astakhova (Soviet Union) in the all-time list of most decorated female gymnasts in the Olympic Games, behind only Caslavska (11 medals) and Larisa Latynina (Soviet Union, 18).

In a few hours’ time, the American could - and in all likelihood will - move up into second spot on her own on 12 medals. Could she then grab another six, or even seven, in Los Angeles in 2028 to tie, or overtake, Latynina at the top?

That’s a question for much further down the line, as Biles herself hinted at in a press conference following last week’s exploits. Now, her full focus is on winning gold in the balance beam and floor exercise finals on Monday.

When will Simone Biles compete in the balance beam and floor exercise finals?

According to the Olympic Games schedule, the schedule for Biles’ two remaining finals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is:

  • Women’s balance beam final: Monday, August 5, starting at 6:36am ET / 3:36am PT.
  • Women’s floor exercise final: Monday, August 5, starting at 8:20am ET / 5:20am PT.
