Some young athletes from the United States delegation are aiming to be the new stars for the upcoming Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

Las posibles estrellas de Estados Unidos en Los Angeles 2028

The United States has already begun its preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, where some new stars will seek to emerge and become the new figures of the North American delegation.

The athletes from the country of the Stars and Stripes know that in four years, they will be home. That is why many began their training during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the last test before the final exam.

Swimming

Some of them have already shown their talent, such as Kate Douglass, silver medallist at just 22 years of age in the 200-meter individual medley, but who had times similar to those of the promising Canadian Summer McIntosh. Douglass will arrive at 26 years of age to seek the gold medal at home.

Swimmer Robert Finke, meanwhile, won the gold medal in the 1,500 meters and is set to be a sure bet for the United States in the long distances. Finke will arrive in Los Angeles at 28 years of age, with a lot of maturity and a hunger to continue adding to his medal tally.

Other swimming greats who could put their names on the podium include Torri Huske, Lydia Jacoby, Regan Smith, and Gretchen Walsh. And we can’t sleep on Aaron Shackell, who finished eighth at 19 but works with Michael Phelps’ head coach.

Athletics

All eyes are on Noah Lyles after he conquered the 100-meter dash, but there are two U.S. stars to watch in four years. Erriyon Knighton, who at 20 years old, was a hundredth of a second off the podium in the 200 meters. The other is Quincy Wilson, who, at 16 years old, helped win gold in the 4x400 meters.

Los Angeles could be the day when Sha’Carri Richardson can conquer the 100 meters after winning silver in Paris 2024. The North American would arrive at the next Olympic Games at 28 years of age.

Soccer

The United States has left behind the era of Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan, and everything indicates that a new era is beginning, led by the trident of Trinity Rodman (22 years old), Sophia Smith (24 years old) and Mallory Swanson (26 years old).

Fencing

Lee Kiefer was the big star of American fencing in Paris, but Lauren Scruggs, 21, won the silver medal and will aim for gold in four years.

Gymnastics

Los Angeles 2028 could be Simone Biles’ last Olympic Games, should she choose to do so, but there are other stars in gymnastics. Sunisa Lee seems to be the one who could inherit the throne. But there is also Hezly Rivera, who, at 16 years old, was in Paris in 2024.

Basketball

Paris 2024 may have been the last Olympic Games for LeBron James and Kevin Durant, but they are back with a new generation of NBA greats, including Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, and Tyrese Haliburton.

Weightlifting

At 20, Hampton Morris surprised everyone by winning the bronze medal in the 61 kg category. The American will arrive in Los Angeles at 24, looking to win gold.

Archery

Casey Kaufhold is another of the great young talents for the United States. The archer won a bronze medal in the mixed-team competition with Brady Ellison. In four years, she will still be at a good age to seek a medal.
