It’s no surprise that the Olympic Games are one of the most-watched sports events worldwide. The competition reunites the best athletes, competing for a dream that has taken four years to become a reality.
And as an event of such magnitude warrants, international sports stars will be present, which is the case of the iconic quarterback Peyton Manning. After retiring in 2016, the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos player and two-time Super Bowl champion has built up a reputation in the sports media landscape and will cover the 2024 Olympic Games.
Why is Peyton Manning covering the Paris 2024 Olympic Games?
Manning’s company, Omaha Productions, produces some of the most popular productions in the US market; one of them is ESPN’s popular Monday Night Football. Peyton is the program’s host, along with his brother, Eli.
The Hall of Fame quarterback has also built up his name off the pitch and now will have a role as a reporter with NBC during the 2024 Olympic Games. Manning will co-host the opening ceremony with Mike Tirico and Kelly Clarkson. The trio will be at the Trocadero, with views of the Seine River and the Eiffel Tower.
When asked about co-hosting the ceremony, Manning said, “I’m extremely honored to have a front-row seat. I think there’ll be a lot of emotions for these athletes. I look forward to finding out those stories between now and July and maybe sharing that with the audience”.
