Everyone loves Casemiro
It is not easy to leave Real Madrid. Even more so when one is a integral part of the first team squad and one of those players who have won titles and thrilled fans at the Bernabeu. We’ve seen a fair share of poorly handled departures through the Santiago Bernabeu back door and a handful of untimely farewells, that it is something of a breath of fresh air on how Casemiro is leaving and how the club is letting him go. Much of this has to do with the player himself and despite his exit some ten days before the end of the transfer window, Real Madrid have been collaborative in the move to United. Much of this has to do with the fact that, without exception, during his time with the LaLiga club, the Brazilian player has been a symbol of reliability, commitment and honesty, traits that are rarely found in modern day football.
An example
His teammates say so, coaches say so and so do journalists who cover the club and Spanish football. His forthright and honest attitude when the Covid pandemic struck and the club asked the squad to accept a pay cut. When certain players expressed their doubts, Casemiro took to the floor and said that Real Madrid had always been impeccable on the issue of payment and that it was logical that there should be a subsequent effort on the part of all at the club, players and staff alike.
Solid relationship with Perez
His behavior over the years and solid relationship with president Florentino Perez were all factors that have seen Real Madrid collaborate with the move. Madrid could have dragged their heels and referred to the unrealistic buy-out, but as things stand, Casemiro can fly to Manchester United with his head held high and his heart full of gratitude.
