Hello

Real Madrid on an incredible winning roll since Paris

Real Madrid are quietly going about their business and that current business involves winning games. At present, the other European giants have stumbled while Ancelotti’s side carry on with the winning run. Something that Barcelona with Lewandowski and the miraculous ‘economic levers’ can fail to claim, nor can PSG with Mbappé, Messi, Neymar and Ramos, nor the Bayern Munich side with Mané, Sané and Musiala, nor the Milan of Leao and Brahim, nor the Inter of Lautaro and Lukaku, nor the City of ‘Terminator’ Haaland, nor the Arsenal featuring Gabriel Jesus and Odegaard... All have suffered at least one adverse result in the first month of the season... as Ancelotti’s Madrid roll along.

Title favourites

The club has won 6 out of 6 in the League with added merit in having played four of those six games away from the Bernabéu due to construction work. The first home test saw an inform Real Betis who were the other in-form team in LaLiga and Madrid prevailed. The winning run is not limited to domestic football with a comfortable European Super Cup win against Eintracht in Helsinki, and despite being outplayed in the first half in the group stage of the Champions League against Celtic, Madrid ran out winners in Glasgow. A similar pattern emerged in the RB Leipzig game but, ultimately the points stayed in Madrid. The derby win on Sunday sealed an incredible 9 wins from 9 games so far this season and it’s a brave man that would bet against ‘Los Blancos’ retaining their league title.

Paris glory

Back on 28 May, Ancelotti’s men defeated a Liverpool team in Saint-Denis that came into the UCL final as clear favourites. A solitary goal from Vinicius on the night saw the club lift ther 13th European Cup and set off this roll that has seen Madrid rack up a partial 10-0, equivalent to the ten consecutive wins that club has accumulated since that magical night in Paris in all competitive games. Many Real Madrid fans were extremely disappointed by Mbappé's unexpected ‘no’ but any negativity ahead of the 2022-23 season has been banished by sporting success on the pitch. At present it appears that the dressing room and Ancelotti are an indestructible unit. Many thanks, Kylian.
