We’re about to see some great links action as the PGA Tour will once again co-sanction the Genesis Scottish Open with the DP World Tour. There’s an almost even split of golfers from the two tours competing this week at The Renaissance Club in Gullane, Scotland and with that, we’re getting into the details of it all.

The 2023 Genesis Scottish Open

Unless you’ve been under a rock, you probably know that it’s time for the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open. A jointly held event from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour will see 156 golfers vying for the $9 million purse which is up for grabs.

Where the field itself is concerned, we’ve got to say that it’s stacked with some of the world’s best including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who has already got two wins this season, as well as Rickie Fowler who is fresh off of his sixth career victory having won at the Rocket Mortgage Classic just two weeks ago. Of course, aside from Scheffler who has finished T-5 or better in each of his last six starts on the PGA Tour, we’ve also got the likes of John Rahm who won this year’s Masters and is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Of course, those aren’t the only top-tier golfers who will be on show. Quite frankly, this year’s event will feature 30 of the top 50 players in the world including the likes of defending champion Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, and Jordan Spieth to name a few. All in all, this is going to be a great tournament.

The purse & winner’s take for the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open

As mentioned before the purse on offer for the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open stands at $9 million, which is actually a $1 million increase on the purse that was offered just one year ago. Naturally, that also means that the winner’s prize has increased as well and now sits at a comfortable $1.62 million. Now, while the cash is all well and good, it’s also important to note that the winner will earn himself a hefty 500 FedEx Cup points, which as we all know goes a long way when it comes to the Official World Golf Ranking. For the sake of clarity, here’s a look at the earnings for the top 10 finishers in the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open, however, be aware that right down to the 65th place finisher who earns $19,350, there will be a cash prize awarded.
